We looked at 125 Georgia towns to see where the top 1% dwell. Editor's Note: The data for 2021 has been revised. This is our seventh time listing Georgia's wealthiest cities. We'll just leave it at that: if you're the home of The Masters golf event, you better think you're home to some insanely wealthy cities.

Richmond, Virginia, topped our list this year with a median household income of $132,095. It's no surprise that America's capital city ranks high on our list; many government employees there make more than $150,000 per year.

Next up is Atlanta, which ranked second last year. More than one in five households here earns $150,000 or more, so it's clear that money is being made and spent wisely in Georgia.

Other big cities on our list include Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.

There are 25 cities in Georgia with a population of 100,000 or more. Of these, three - Atlanta, Augusta, and Savannah - rank among the top 10 wealthiest cities in the country.

The rest of the list is made up of small town centers riddled with strip malls and dotted with fast food restaurants and dollar stores. There aren't any real industry leaders on this list, which tells us that if you can get money into these places, you can make a lot of it.
